I so feel your pain. I too was a daddy’s girl and lost my dad last Saturday which is how I have stumbled across your article. I also had two dogs who were siblings and for the past 11 and half years have gone to my parents Monday to Friday when I worked. I did palliative care at home for my dad the last two weeks and the sicker my dad got the more depressed my dogs became. My first dog passed from heart failure at 1am on the Monday morning and his sister who had never been apart from him had a cardiac episode 9 hours later and I had to farewell her also that day. My dad held on until I had the ashes back and I placed them in his room and said they were now home and ready for him and he also passed the next morning when his heart finally stopped beating. It broke me to loose all three within 6 days but I was also comforted knowing they were all going together.

Tears of laughter and anguish filled me after reading your father's eulogy. I, too, am a fierce Daddy's girl and cannot imagine the loss - nothing scares me more!

I am so sorry for the sadness you must feel from the devastating loss but know your family will rally and find joy in the wonderful times you spent together.

Your heavenly reunion will be nothing short of perfect!
