Walk with Me: The "push" that saved my life.
First day! Let's laugh and walk together. See you out there.
Aaaaand, we’re walking!
I’m so honored to be spending this time with you. When I found out Audible was doing the April promotion of my audibook for $5.99, I thought it would be the perfect time to spark up another Walk with Me series. If you haven’t gotten your book yet, you can get it here.
I’ve read that people who live the longest tend to have daily walking habits. I also read an interview with a 103-year-old who said she had a daily Dr. Pepper habit, so do with that info with you will.
I was thinking we’d listen to a chapter and walk each weekday. I’ll shoot out a short and sweet email to guide and remind us to get that time in for ourselves. I don’t want to overwhelm you with emails, so consider them little nudges. (If you don’t want/need the nudges, simply go to the settings of your subscription and click off the “Walk with Me” section.)
Some chapters are short and you might feel like you just got started, so keep walking for as long as you’re able! Switch to music, another book, or just burn through mine. We’re all adults here.
Let’s start with the introduction. I begin I’m Not Ready for This with a story I consider to be a miracle. And I doubt I’d be alive today if my mom wasn’t “pushed” when she wasn’t ready- compelling her to “push” me and save my life.
My most transformative years as a Christian woman have been learning to listen to and become attuned with the Holy Spirit. The Comforter, Helper (remember my story on FB when He tried to help me put my trashcan up? Hahahaha), Counselor, Strengthener.
The still small voice. A bullhorn. A nagging. Sometimes a stirring. And, if ignored long enough- it can sound like a deafening silence. I’d prefer the bullhorn because stepping out in faith is terrifying, but I don’t always get what I want.
I hope after listening to the introduction you start to think about the distractions and noise you might have in your life, drowning out your ability to hear what you need to hear most.
Are you being gently “pushed” into a new season? If so, better listen up.
Now let’s go enjoy a good walk.
xx,
Anna
