My mom reads every chapter I write for my books before I send them off to my editor. After I wrote Chapter 4, “Micky’s Got a Gun” - I paused.
“You sure you wanna read this?” I asked.
My mom reads my work like a real pro, cautious to separate Anna the writer, from Annie, her daughter.
But this was uncomfortable.
The upside- is I start the chapter off peeing my friend’s mom’s snow pants.
Let’s walk!
xx,
Anna
